The art of failing is not hard to master
You don’t need to wait for a natural disaster
You don’t need instruction from an expert taskmaster
You don’t need the blessing of your local pastor
Or the prognostications of a trained forecaster
If you have a choice, don’t fail slowly, fail faster
Either way it will happen before you’re ready, not after
And don’t worry about the ridicule and laughter
Failure always boils down to one simple factor
You either are or are not a resilient adapter
Who can pick yourself up after any disaster
And figure out the lesson you have to master
