The disruptive ideas of yesterday
Are eventually assimilated
They become the conventions of today
Well established and integrated
And soon they will all be well on their way
To no longer being debated
Like every other tired cliché
That has ever been cultivated
And so it goes in the world of schemes
They start out disruptive and bold
They start out somewhere beyond the extremes
Too hot to handle or hold
People laugh at them as improbable dreams
While only a few see the gold
Ideas that at one time sparkled and gleamed
Are later tossed out into the cold
